On December 6, 2024, NYSEIA and a coalition of ~20 clean energy industry stakeholders submitted comments in support of ConnectDER and Tesla's petition to establish a standard process for utilities to approve meter socket adapters (MSAs). MSAs are a simple piece of hardware that can lower the cost for homeowners to install solar, energy storage systems or an electric vehicle charger. MSAs are widely allowed in neighboring states, such as New Jersey, and can enable more New York homeowners to safely and reliably adopt clean energy solutions.
