Goals:

  1. Achieve 2000 MW of PV and increased solar thermal use throughout  New York State during the next 10 years

Through a bold new initiative modeled on the California Solar Initiative ordered by the CA Public Service Commission in 2006 to achieve 3000 MW of PV over the next 11 years.

  2. Expand the manufacturing of solar technologies in New York State

Building on recent successes in-state with semiconductor and fuel cell manufacturing.  Increased manufacturing of solar technologies could utilize idle or under-utilized manufacturing and fabrication plants and could increase jobs and revenue.

  3. Increase awareness among legislators and other elected officials of the environmental, economic development and energy supply benefits of solar energy use

An emission free, climate neutral energy source!

  4. Participate in policy and regulatory processes

To ensure the needs of the solar industry are understood and considered when making key decisions.
  5. Help train the future workforce through education, training, and internships.
