What is the New York Solar Energy Industries Association
Formed in 1994, NYSEIA's statewide membership consists of:
- Solar electric (Photovoltaic - PV) and solar thermal manufacturers, distributors, and component suppliers.
- PV and solar water and space heating installation companies.
- Professional attorneys, engineers and architects serving the solar energy industry.
- Advocates and allied organizations committed to advancing the market for solar energy in New York.
- Utilities and energy service companies.
- Non-profit and government representatives involved in solar energy research, training and education.
What we do
Educate the public, legislators, policy makers, and regulators on the environmental, economic development, and energy supply benefits of solar energy use. Participate in key public policy and regulatory decision making processes affecting the solar industry. Provide information on solar energy and the solar industry in NYS to the NYS Assembly, Senate, Public Service Commission, etc. Collaborate with other renewable energy, environmental, and economic development groups to expand development and use of solar energy in New York State.
- Organize and present conferences, trade shows, fairs, and other public events.
- Provide speeches and presentations for both general and technical audiences on the status of solar energy use and the solar industry in New York State.
- Offer training workshops and courses for code officials, installers, and other solar energy professionals.
- Help develop the future workforce by providing a PV Installer Internship program, sharing i nformation on job openings and personnel seeking positions, etc.
- Serve as a clearinghouse for those seeking information on solar energy.
